 In the first half of the 19th century, the region was appropriated by the East India Company, followed, after 1857, by 90 years of direct British rule, and ending with the creation of Pakistan in 1947, through the efforts, among others, of its future national poet Allama Iqbal and its founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

 Expected increase in salary of government employees in June 2024 ISLAMABAD – The federal government is expected to announce its first budget for fiscal year 2024-25 in June amid multiple economic challenges. All federal and provincial government employees eagerly wait for the announcement of the budget every year as their salaries are increased by the government keeping in view various factors, including inflation. As the government is taking steps to decrease the inflation, it aims at bringing it down to the target range of 5 – 7 percent by September 2025. Headline inflation in March declined to 20.7 percent y/y from 23.1 percent in February. In the same period, core inflation fell significantly to 15.7 percent from 18.1 percent in February. The State Bank of Pakistan’s Monetary Policy Committee views inflation to continue to remain on downward trajectory. Nadra Family Registration Certificate fee update April 2024 (FRC Fee) LAHORE – The National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) is the competent authority to issue Family Registration Certificate (FRC), a document that provides details about members of the family. The FRC fee stands at Rs1,000. Pakistan citizens can submit an application to Nadra for FRC in the following three categories: By Birth – The produced certificate will list your family including the details of your parents and siblings. By Marriage – The produced certificate will list your family including the details of your spouse and children. By Adoption – The produced certificate will list your family including the details of your guardian.
